- “Networking is more important than ever,” by Robby Slaughter, The Indianapolis Business Journal, page 11A, Sept. 20 – Oct. 2 issue, and
- “Today’s job market requires research, networking,” by Lori Roberts, The Indianapolis Star, page K1, Sept. 25 issue.
The action word “networking” is the key whether you are actively looking for a new job, want to be prepared “just in case,” are seeking new customers or employees or want to help others. Social media such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are only small parts of an effective networking program.
Build your networks before you need them. And, if you don’t think the ax can fall on you with no warning, better think again. A “secure” job can disappear in a flash. Boy Scouts have it right: “Always be prepared.”
